Filmed interview with Dave Dennis conducted for Eyes on the Prize. Discussion centers on Freedom Summer, Medgar Evers, James Chaney, and Dennis' reaction to their murders. Also Dennis' work with the Council of Federated Organizations (COFO) in Mississippi, and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party's challenge to the official Democratic Party.
The original interview elements, 16mm negative and 1/4" audio reel to reel, were preserved during 2010-2016 due to the generosity of a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. As part of an internal process, the preserved film were digitized to create 10-bit uncompressed SD files and the preserved full coat magnetic elements were digitized to create 24-bit 96kHz .wav files. The picture and audio were then reassembled at the Film & Media Archive.
