                    <p>Know all men by these presents that we <persName> George W. Piper</persName>
                  <lb/>
                    as principal + <persName>Willis L. Williamson</persName> as Security, are held<lb/>
                    + firmly bound unto the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>, in the penal sum<lb/>
                    of Two hundred dollars, well + firmly to be paid, we bind<lb/>
                    ourselves + each of us, our heirs, executors + administrators_<lb/>.
                    The condition of the above obligation in this_ that whereas the<lb/>
                    County Court of the Count of Saint Louis County, State aforesaid,<lb/>
                        have this day granted unto the said <persName> George W. Piper</persName> a License<lb/>
                        with the provision of the act of the Legislature of said state,<lb/>
                        approved <date when="1843-02-23">23 February A.D. 1843</date>_ Now if the said <persName>George W. Piper</persName>
                  <lb/>
                        shall be of good behavior, according to the <unclear unit="words" quantity="2"/>+ meaning of <lb/>
                        the Legislature aforesaid, then this obligation to be null<lb/>
                        + void, otherwise to remain in full force +virtue_</p>
