                  <lb/>um of the state and county aforesaid of a plea of trespass and<lb/> false imprisonment for that the said defendant heretofore<lb/> to wit on the <date when="1840-01-01">first day of January in the year Eighteen hun-<lb/>dred and forty,</date> at the county aforesaid, in and upon the<lb/> said plaintiff did make an assault: and her the said plaintiff<lb/> did then and there beat and evilly treat, and then<lb/> and there did imprison, keep, detain confine and hold<lb/> the said plaintiff in confinement and slavery: and still<lb/> continues to imprison the said plaintiff and to keep detain<lb/> and hold her in confinement, and has ever since then im<lb/> prisoned the said plaintiff and kept detained and<lb/> held her in confinement and slavery to wit at the<lb/> county aforesaid, contrary to the laws of the state<lb/> and against the will of said plaintiff. And the<lb/> aid plaintiff avers that she was, at the time of the<lb/> committing of the <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">

               <p>And the said plaintiff as to<lb/> the first plea of the said de<lb/>fendant by him <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">

                  </unclear> behalf pleaded &amp; whereof he<lb/> hath put himself upon the Country doth the like</p>
