                    <p>Know all men by these presents <lb/>
                        that we <persName>Louisa Day</persName> as principal and <lb/>
                        <persName>Kenneth M<hi rend="superscript">c</hi>Kenzie</persName> as security are held <lb/>
                        and firmly bound unto the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> 
                  <lb/>
                        in the sum of two hundred Dollars of the <lb/>
                        good and lawful money of the United <lb/>
                        States, to the payment of which, well <lb/>
                        and truly to be made, we do bind ourselves, <lb/>
                        our heirs, executors and administrators firmly <lb/>
                        by these presents, sealed with our seals <lb/>
                        and dayed this <date when="1843-05-04">fourth day of May in the <lb/>
                        year eighteen hundred and forty-three</date>
                    </p>
                    <p>The condition of this obligation is such <lb/>
                        that whereas, on the <date when="1843-05-02">second day of the month and <lb/>
                        year above written</date>, the County Court in and for <lb/>
                        the County of St Louis has granted to the said <lb/>
                        <persName>Louisa</persName>, a license to remain within the <lb/>
                        said State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>. Now if the said <lb/>
                        <persName>Louisa Day</persName>, shall well conduct herself, <lb/>
                        and be of good behavior <del rend="strikethrough">then</del> during <lb/>
                        her residence within said State, then <lb/>
                        this obligation to be void otherwise to remain <lb/>
                        in full force and effect in law.
