                    <p>Know all men by these presents <lb/>
                        that I <persName>Patsey Ellis</persName> as principal and <lb/>
                        <persName>Samuel <choice>

                  </persName> and <persName>Misan Leshi</persName> 
                  <lb/>
                        as sureties are held and firmly <lb/>
                        bound unto the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> in <lb/>
                        the sum of two hundred Dollars <lb/>
                        for the payment of which well and <lb/>
                        truly to be made we bind ourselves <lb/>
                        firmly by these presents in testimony <lb/>
                        whereof we have hereunto set our <lb/>
                        hands and seals this <date when="1843-06-19">19<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> day of June <lb/>
                        AD 1843</date>. Now the condition of this <lb/>
                        obligation is such that whereas the said <lb/>
                        <persName>Patsey Ellis</persName> hath this day obtained license <lb/>
                        to reside in the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> as a <lb/>
                        free colored person according to the statute in such case <unclear unit="word" quantity="1" rend="written"/> and <lb/>
                        provided Now if the said <persName>Patsey</persName> shall <lb/>
                        during her residence in said State <lb/>
                        conduct herself in a peaceable and <lb/>
                        orderly manner and be of good <lb/>
                        behavior then this bond to be void <lb/>
                        otherwise not
