                    <p>Know all Men by These Presents, that<lb/>
                        I <persName>James M Boyd</persName> as principal<lb/> and <persName>Legrand H
                            Bucker</persName> as security are 
                        held and firmly <lb/> bound unto the State of 
                        <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>
                  <lb/> in the penal sum of
                        two hundred <lb/> Dollars for
                        the <sic>jugment</sic> of which <lb/> 
                        well and truly to be made we<lb/>
                        bind ourselves our heirs executioners and <lb/>
                        administrators firmly by these presents<lb/>
                        Sealed with our seals and <sic>saled</sic>
                  <lb/>
                        this <date when="1843-04-01">first day of April AD 1843</date>
                  <lb/>

                    <p>Now the condition of this bond is <lb/>
                        such that whereas the County <choice>
                     <orig>Commifsioners</orig>
                     
                  </choice>
                  <lb/>
                        Court of the County of Saint Louis and state<lb/>
                        of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> hath this <sic>Saled</sic> granted a<lb/>
                        license to the above bounden <persName>James<lb/>
                            M Boyd</persName>. to reside and remain in the <lb/>
                        State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> according to the <lb/>
                        law in such case made and <lb/>
                        proceeded. And if this said <persName>James <lb/>
                            M Boyd</persName> shall during his residence <lb/>
                        in said state be of good behavior <lb/>
                        and of peaceable and orderly conduct <lb/>
                        then this bond to be void otherwise <lb/>
                        to be and remain in full <lb/>
                        force virtue and effect<lb/>
