                    <p>Know all men by these presents that we <persName>Shepard <lb/>
                        Smith</persName> principal and <persName>Isaac A Letcher</persName> and <persName>Saml T <lb/>
                        M<hi rend="superscript">c</hi>Cullough</persName> his securities are held and firmly bound <lb/>
                        unto the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> in the sum of two hundred <lb/>
                        Dollars each for the prompt payment of which we <lb/>
                        bind ourselves Our heirs executors &amp; administrators <lb/>
                        firmly by these presents sealed with our seals &amp; dated <lb/>
                        this <date when="1845-11-08">8<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> day of November 1845</date>
                    </p>
                    <p>The condition of the above obligation is such that <lb/>
                        whereas the said <persName>Shepard</persName> has this day been Licensed <lb/>
                        to reside in the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> during good behavior <lb/>
                        Now if the said <persName>Smith</persName> shall during his residence in <lb/>
                        the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> conduct himself lawfully and be <lb/>
                        of good Character &amp; behavior then the above obliga- <lb rend="hyphen"/>
                        tion to be void else of full force &amp; virtue.
