                    <p>Know all men by these presents that we <persName>George<lb/>
                        M Baker</persName> as principal and <persName>
                     <abbr>Thos</abbr> G Martin</persName> 
                            as security one held and firmly bound unto the<lb/>
                            State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> in the just and full sum<lb/>
                        of two hundred dollars each for the true payment<lb/>
                        of which sum of money we bind ourselves executors<lb/>
                        adminsitrators and assigns jointly and severally<lb/>
                        by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this<date when="1844-03-27"> twenty seventh day of March Eighteen jimdred +<lb/>
                            forty four</date> The Condition of this obligation is <lb/>.
                            such that whereas <persName>George M Baker</persName> has this day<lb/>
                        obtained from the County Court of the County <lb/>
                        of Saint Louis a license to remain in this<lb/>
                            State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>  as a free person of color<lb/>
                        under the provision of an act entitled "An<lb/>
                        act to more effectually prevent free persons of <lb/>
                        color from entering into the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>
                  <lb/>
                        and other purposes" Now this condition of this <lb/>
                        Bond is such that if this said <persName>George M Baker</persName>
                  <lb/>
                        Shall be of good behaviour during the continuance<lb/>
                        of said license then the aboe obligation to be <lb/>
                        null and void Otherwise to be and remain<lb/>
                        in full force and virtue in Law</p>
