                    <p>Know all men by these presents <lb/>
                        that we <persName>Louisa Robinson</persName> and <persName>Archibald <lb/>
                        Gamble</persName> of S Louis County are held and <lb/>
                        firmly bound unto the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> 
                  <lb/>
                        in the sum of four hundred dollars that <lb/>
                        is to say the said <persName>Louisa Robinson</persName> in the <lb/>
                        sum of two hundred dollars and the said <lb/>
                        <persName>Archibald Gamble</persName> in the sum of two hundred <lb/>
                        dollars. The condition of the above <lb/>
                        obligation is such that whereas the above <lb/>
                        named <persName>Louisa Robinson</persName> a woman of color <lb/>
                        has this day obtained from the County Court <lb/>
                        of the County of S Louis a license to reside <lb/>
                        in the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>. Now if the <lb/>
                        <del rend="strikethrough">said Louisa</del> condition of this Bond is <lb/>
                        that of the said <persName>Louisa Robinson</persName> shall <lb/>
                        be of good behavior then this obligation <lb/>
                        to be void else to remain in full <lb/>
                        force and virtue
                    </p>                   
                    <p>Given under our hands &amp; seals <lb/>
                        at S Louis this <date when="1843-05-02">2<hi rend="superscript">nd</hi> day of May 1843</date>
