                    <p>Know all men by these <sic>pesents</sic> that we<lb/>
                        <persName>Jane Clay</persName> as principal and <persName>John Lightcap</persName>
                  <lb/>
                        <add place="above">and <persName>Albert Jones</persName>
                  </add> as securities are held and firmly bound unto<lb/>
                    the state of Missouri in the just and full sum<lb/>
                    of one thousand dollars for the payment of<lb/>
                    which we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs<lb/>
                    executors and admnistrators, sealed with our <lb/>
                        seals and dated this <date when="1846-12-10">tenth day of December<lb/>
                        eighteen hundred and forty six.</date> The condition<lb/>
                    of this obligation is such that whereas the said <persName>Jane</persName> shall be of good bhavior<lb/>
                    during her residence in this state then<lb/>
                    this obligation to be void else of full force<lb/>
                    and effect.</p>
