                        the said defendent<lb/> heretofore <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">

                  </unclear>,
                        wit, on the <date when="1842-03-01">first day of march in the year<lb/>
                            eighteen hundred and forty two</date> with free and<lb/> assures of the
                        country afordance made an appraoch<lb/> on her the said plaintiff and then
                        and there beat, bruised and ill treated her the said plaintiff and<lb/> then
                        and there imprisoned her and <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">
                     <supplied>kept</supplied>
                  </unclear> and<lb/>
                        detained her in <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">
                     <supplied>prison</supplied>
                  </unclear> from that time
                        until<lb/> the present against the will of the said plain<lb/> tiff. and

                  </unclear> to the said plaintiff<lb/> then
                        and there did against the peace of the<lb/>

                        the said<lb/> plaintiff in slavery. Wherefore the said plaintiff<lb/> says
