Martin</persName> <lb/> as security are held and firmly bound unto the<lb/> State of Missouri in the just and full sum <lb/> of Two hundred dollars each for the true payment<lb/> of which sum of money we bind ourselves executors<lb/> adminsitrators and assigns jointly and severally<lb/> by these presents sealed with our seals and dated<lb/> this <date when="1844-03-27">twenty seventh day of March Eighteen hundred+<lb/> fourty four</date> The Condition of this obligation is<lb/> such that whereas <persName>George M Baker</persName> has this day<lb/> obtained from the County Court of the County<lb/> of Saint Louis a license to remain in this<lb/> State of Missouri as a free person of color<lb/> under the provisions of an act entitled "An<lb/> act to more effectually prevent free persons of<lb/> color from entering into the State of Missouri<lb/> and other purposes" Now the condition of this <lb/> Bond is such that of the said <persName>George Baker</persName> <lb/> shall be of good behaviour during the continuance<lb/> of said License then the above obligation to be <lb/> null and void Otherwise to be and remain<lb/> in full force and virtue in Law</p> <closer> <signed>G.
