                    <p>Know all men by these presents that we<lb/>
                    <persName>Shade Sparrow</persName> principal, + Reuben Knox security<lb/>
                    are held + firmly bound unto the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>

                    in the sum of Two hundred dollars to the payment of which we bind ourselves our heirs executors<lb/>
                    and administrators + each + every on of them firmly by<lb/>
                    there presents_sealed with our seals, and dated <lb/>
                    this <date when="1843-05-03">third day of May in the year Eighteen<lb/>
                    hundred + forty three</date>_ The conditions of this obliga<lb/>
                    -tion is such _ that whereas on the <date when="1843-05-03">third day of <lb/>
                    May as above written</date> the county court of<lb/>
                        the county of St. Louis + State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>
                  <lb/>
                    granted to the said <persName>Shade Sparrow</persName> a license<lb/>
                        to reside within the said state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>.<lb/>
                    Now if the said <persName>Shade Sparrow</persName> shall<lb/>
                    during his residence in state will dep<gap/>
                  <lb/>
                    himself as a good orderly citizen th<gap/>
                  <lb/>
                    this obligation be void otherwise <gap/>
