                    <p>Know all men by these presents that <lb/>
                        I <persName>Mariah Buckner</persName> as principal and <persName>Alexander <lb/>
                        Phillippi</persName> as security are held and firmly bound <lb/>
                        unto the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> in the sum of two <lb/>
                        hundred dollars to the payment of which <lb/>
                        well and truly to be made we bind ourselves <lb/>
                        our heirs, executors and administrators <lb/>
                        firmly by these presents sealed with our <lb/>
                        seals and dated this <date when="1843-05-03">third day of May in <lb/>
                        the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and <lb/>
                        forty three</date>
                    </p>                   
                    <p>The condition of this obligation is <lb/>
                        such that whereas the County Court in <lb/>
                        and for the County of St Louis has the <lb/>
                        day and year above written granted a <lb/>
                        license to the said <persName>Mariah Buckner</persName> 
                  <lb/>
                        to reside within said State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>
                    </p>
                    <p>Now if the said <persName>Mariah Buckner</persName> shall <lb/>
                        during her residence within said <lb/>
                        State honestly and soberly as a good <lb/>
                        citizen deport &amp; conduct herself then <lb/>
                        this bond to be void otherwise to remain <lb/>
                        in full force &amp; virtue in Law
                    </p>
