                    Jones</persName> as Principal and <persName>John Shores</persName> as security<lb/>
                    are held and firmly bound unto the State<lb/>

                  </choice> in the sum of one Thousand<lb/>
                    dollars for the true and faithful payment<lb/>
                    of which we hereby Bind ourselves our heirs<lb/>
                    executors and Administrators firmly by <lb/>
                    these rpesents as <choice>

                  </choice> our hands and Seal<lb/>
                    this <date when="1846-12-04">fourth day of December AD Eighteen<lb/>
                    hundred and Forty six</date>

                    <p>The condition of the above <del rend="strikethrough">named</del>

                    obligation is such that whereas the above<lb/>
                    named <persName>Patey Jones</persName> has applied to the <lb/>
                    County Court of St. Louis County being <lb/>
                        a Free Negro Woman for a Licence to<lb/>
                    reside within the said State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>

                        Now if the said <persName>Patey Jones</persName> shall<lb/>
                        be of good <sic>behavyour</sic> then this obli<lb/>
                    gation shall be void otherwise to <lb/>
                    remain in full force and effect</p>
