Sealed with our seals and<lb/> dated the <date when="1843-05-04">4th day of May 1843___</date> </p> <p>Seal<lb/> Seal</p> <p>The conditions of the above obligation is such that<lb/> whereas the above named <persName>John Thomas</persName>, has been a<lb/> resident citizen of the state of Missouri since<lb/> the summer of 1835_ in which state he has since that<lb/> time resided, and make his place of <sic>residince</sic> and<lb/> to procure a license to enable him to remain<lb/> in said state of Missouri, now if the said <persName>John<lb/> Thomas</persName> deports himself in a proper <sic>maner</sic> <lb/> <sic>acording</sic> to law, maintains and <sic>suports</sic> himself<lb/> so as not to become a charge upon the county<lb/> of St Louis, or any other County in said state<lb/> Missouri.
