L. Austin</persName> as security are <lb/> held and firmly bound unto the State of <choice> <orig>Mifsouri</orig> </choice> in <lb/> the just and full sum of Two hundred Dollars each <lb/> for the true payment of which sum of money we bind <lb/> ourselves our heirs our executors administrators and <lb/> <choice> <orig>afsigns</orig> </choice>. </p> <p>Jointly and Severally by these presents sealed with <lb/> our seals and dated this <date when="1843-06-26">twenty sixth day of June in <lb/> the year of our Lord eighteen hundred & forty three</date> </p> <p>The conditions of this obligation is such that <lb/> whereas <persName>Charles Anderson</persName> has this day obtained <lb/> from the County Court of Saint Louis County, a license <lb/> to Remain in this State as a free person of colour <lb/> under the provision of an act entitled an act <lb/> more effectually to prevent free persons of colour <lb/> from entering into this state and for other purposes <lb/> approved <date when="1843-02-23">23<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> February 1843</date> </p> <p>Now the condition of this bond is such that <lb/> if said <persName>Charles Anderson</persName> be of good behavior <lb/> during the continuance of said license be in <lb/> full force & virtue </p> <closer> Done in the presence of <lb/> <signed>Henry J.
