                    <p>Know all men by these presents that <lb/>
                    We <persName>Peggy Blackson</persName> as principal and<lb/>
                    <persName>Orin Smith</persName> as security are held and firmly <lb/>
                        bound unto the State of Missouri in the full<lb/>
                        and just sum of Two Hundred dollars<lb/>
                        for the true payment of which sum of money<lb/>
                        we bind ourselves our heirs executors administrators<lb/>
                        and assigns jointly and severally by these presents<lb/>
                    sealed with ourseals and dated this <date when="1843-06-19">nineteenth<lb/>
                    day of June in the year of our Lord Eighteen<lb/>
                        hundred and forty three</date>  The Condition of this<lb/>
                    obligation is such that whereas <persName>Peggy Blackson</persName>
                  <lb/>
                    has this day obtained from the County a license<lb/>
                    to remain in <unclear unit="words" quantity="1" rend="strikethrough">full</unclear> the State of Missouri as a <lb/>
                    free person of color under the provisions of<lb/>
                    an act entitled "An act more effectually to<lb/>
                    revent free persons of color from entering <lb/>
                    into the state and other purposes" Now the condition of this bond is such that if the said<lb/>
                    <persName>Peggy Blackson</persName> shall be of good behavior<lb/>
                    during the continuance of said license<lb/>
                    then the above obligation to be <add place="above">null &amp; void otherwise</add> and remain<lb/>
                    in full force and virtue in law</p>
