               <p>The facts in the case and as follows:-</p>
               <p>Ben, the plaintiff, was burn a <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, and at the <lb/>time <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> repared to, before the commencement of this <lb/>
                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, was, and state <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> us the property of the defendant, <lb/>William D. Moods <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>. About five years ago, and before this <lb/>
                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> was <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, the said woods <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> the said <lb/>negro to his brother-in-law, and <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, who was then <lb/>about to come out <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> for the state of <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, to <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> 
                  <lb/>lord, who <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> not to this state, and after being <lb/>
                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>
                  <unclear rend="strikethrough" unit="chars"/>look the slave over into St. <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> 
                  <lb/>County, in the state of <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, for the purpose of working <lb/>him as a <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> in the coal <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, and oil work <lb/>him these as and coal-land for seven or eight works, <lb/>after which <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> was brought back to this state, and this <lb/>said was commenced by he slave for his freedom. The <lb/>
                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> in this state, and has done <lb/>
                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> ever <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> came <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>
               </p>
               <p>Some time during the continuance of the <lb/>employment of the slave in <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, the said agent, <lb/>by better, imformed the said <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> then <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, and <unclear rend="strikethrough" unit="chars"/>
                  <lb/>in the state of <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> had <lb/>so employed the said slave in the state of <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>, <lb/>
                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> to <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> &amp; <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> his <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> 
                  <lb/>at the <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> of <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> in his operations at the <lb/>coal <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> at the time of <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> the <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>

                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> was <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> infomed and <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> that would be <lb/>danger in <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> taking the <unclear rend="strikethrough" unit="chars"/> and <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>
