                    <p>Know all men by these presents<lb/>
                    that we <persName>Robert Green</persName> 
                  <persName>I. R. <unclear unit="words" quantity="1"/>
                     <lb/>
                        Dent</persName> and held + firmly bound unto<lb/>
                    the State of Missouri in the amount<lb/>
                    of two hundred dollars <add place="above">each</add> for the pay<lb/>
                    ment of which we bind our <add place="above">selves</add> heirs exec<lb/>
                    utors administrators + assigns______</p>
                    <p>Provided however that <unclear unit="words" quantity="1"/> the<lb/>
                    said Robert Green has ths day obtained<lb/>
                    as license fromt eh county court of St Louis<lb/>
                    State of Missouri under an act entitled an<lb/>
                    act the more effectually to prevent free<lb/>
                    persons of Colour from entering the State of<lb/>
                    Missouri &amp; other purposes approved <date when="1843-02-23">Febry<lb/>
                        23rd, 1843_ to reside in the <unclear unit="words" quantity="1"/>
                     <lb/>
                        of the state of Missouri as long as his<lb/>
                        behavior is good <unclear rend="strikethrough">these</unclear> then this bond to<lb/>
                        be null &amp; void otherwise to remain in <lb/>
                        full force &amp; effect<lb/>
