                    <p>Know all men by these presents that we <persName>Dinah</persName>
                  <lb/>
                    as principal and <persName>Clark Hooper</persName> as security<lb/>
                    are held and firmly bound unto the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>
                  <lb/>
                    in the sum of two hundred dollars each, for the <lb/>
                    true payment of which we bind ourselves our heirs<lb/>
                    executors and administrators firmly by these presents<lb/>
                    sealed with our seals and dated at St. Louis the<lb/>
                    <date when="1844-12-11">11th day of December A.D. 1844.</date>
               </p>
                    <p>The Condition of the above obligation is such that<lb/>
                    whereas the County Court for the County of St. Louis has<lb/>
                    this day Granted to the above bounden <persName>Dinah</persName>
                  <lb/>
                    a free woman of color a license to reside int he state<lb/>
                    of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>, now if the said Dinah shall deport<lb/>
                    herself as a good and orderly citizen, and be of good<lb/>
                    behavior during her residence in this state, then this<lb/>
                    obligation to be null and void. Otherwise to remain<lb/>
                    in full force and virtue.</p>
