Know all men by these presents that I

as security are held and firmly bound unto
the State of
four hundred dollars that is to say the said

hundred dollars for the true payment of which
said sums of money we bind ourselves our and
each of our heirs executors administrators and
sealed with our seals and dated this
of May in the year of our Lorde one thousand
eight hundred and forty three.
The condiiton of the above obligation
is such whereas the said
this day obtained from the county court of
St. Louis County a license to remain n this state
under the provisions of an act of the General
act more effectually to prevent free persons of
color from cominginto the state and for other purposes
Now if the said
good behaviour during the continuance of said
license then the above obligation to be void else
to be and remain in full force and virtue
