Mason</persName> of the County <lb/> of St. Louis and State of <choice> <orig>Mifsouri</orig> </choice>, for divers good causes <lb/> and considerations me thereunto moving, and also in further <lb/> consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand, <lb/> the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have released <lb/> from Slavery, liberated and manumitted and set free, <lb/> and by these presents do hereby release from Slavery, <lb/> liberate, manumit and set free my negro Boy, named <lb/> <persName>Martin Griffin</persName>, being of the age of thirty five Years, <lb/> and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood <lb/> and maintenance; and him the said Negro Boy named <lb/> <persName>Martin Griffin</persName>, I do declare to be henceforth free, man- <lb rend="hyphen"/> -umitted and discharged from all manner of Servitude <lb/> and Service to me, my executors or administrators for- <lb rend="hyphen"/> -ever.
