                    <p>Know all Men by These Presents, That I,<lb/>
                        <persName>Ludwell Lee</persName> as prinipal, and<lb/> 
                  <persName>John S.<lb/> Talbott</persName> &amp;
                         <persName>Loren Spencer</persName>as securities,<lb/> are held<lb/> and firmly
                        bound unto the State of<lb/> Missouri, in the sum of two hundred &amp; fifty Dollars <lb/>
                        for the payment of which well and truly to<lb/> be made we bind ourselves our heirs our<lb/>
                        executors and administrators </p>
                    <p>The condition of the above Obligation is<lb/> such, that whereas, the said<lb/>
                        <persName>Ludwell Lee</persName>
                  <lb/> hath this day obtained a license to reside
                        in<lb/> the State of Missouri, as a free person of<lb/> color under an act entitled "An Act
                        concerning free negroes and mullatoes"<lb/> according to the statue in such cases made<lb/> and provided.</p> 
                        <p>Now if the said <persName>Ludwell Lee</persName>
                  <lb/> shall during his residence in the said<lb/>
                        state conduct himself in a peaceable<lb/> and orderly manner and be of good<lb/> behavior
                        then this bond to be void.<lb/> otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.</p>
