                    <p>Know all men by these Presents <lb/>
                        that we <persName>George Parker</persName> as Principal and <lb/>
                        <persName>Nathaniel E <unclear unit="word" quantity="1" rend="written"/>
                  </persName> as Surety are held <lb/>
                        and firmly bound unto the State of <lb/>
                        Missouri in the Penal Sum of Two <lb/>
                        Hundred Dollars each, for the true pay- <lb rend="hyphen"/>
                        ment of which we bind ourselves our <lb/>
                        Heirs executors and administrators firmly <lb/>
                        by these presents.
                    </p>
                    <p>Sealed with our seals this <date when="1843-12-18">18th day
                        of December 1843</date>.
                    </p>
                    <p>Now the Condition of the above ob- <lb rend="hyphen"/>
                        ligation is such that whereas the <lb/>
                        County Court of St. Louis County <lb/>
                        at the December Term thereof 1843 <lb/>
                        has granted a license to the said <persName>George</persName> 
                  <lb/>
                        a free person of Color, to reside in the State of Missouri.
                    </p>
                    <p>Now if the said <persName>George</persName> shall be of <lb/>
                        good behaviour during his residence in the <lb/>
                        State of Missouri then this obligation <lb/>
                        to be null and void otherwise to remain in full force and effect                        
                    </p>
