                    <p>Know all men by these Presents that <persName>George <lb/>
                        Gardiner</persName> as Principal and <persName>Joseph Wilkinson</persName> Security <lb/>
                        are held and firmly bound unto the State of Missouri <lb/>
                        each in the penal sum of two hundred dollars, well <lb/>
                        and truly to be paid, we hereby binding ourselves, our <lb/>
                        heirs, executors and administrators
                    </p>
                    <p>The condition of this obligation is such _that whereas <lb/>
                        the County Court of St. Louis County, Missouri have <lb/>
                        this day granted unto the said <persName>George Gardiner</persName> a <lb/>
                        license under the provisions of an act of the legislation <lb/>
                        of said State approved <date when="1843-02-23">February 23 1843</date>: now if the <lb/>
                        said <persName>George Gardiner</persName> shall be of good behavior ac- <lb rend="hyphen"/>
                        cording to the intent and meaning of said act of the <lb/>
                        legislation aforesaid, then this obligation is to null <lb/>
                        and void; otherwise to remain and be in full <lb/>
                        force and virtue
                    </p>
