                    <p>Know all men by these presents, that we <persName>Samuel <lb/>
                        LaBeaurne</persName>, as principal, and <persName>C. Edmund LaBeaurne</persName> 
                  <lb/>
                        and <persName>Louis A. LaBeaurne</persName>, as securities, are <lb/>
                        firmly held and bound unto the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> 
                  <lb/>
                        in the sum of one thousand dollars, for the <lb/>
                        payment of which we bind ourselves our heirs <lb/>
                        executors and administrators firmly by these presents.
                    </p>
                    <p>Provided, however, that whereas the said <lb/>
                        <persName>Samuel LaBeaurne</persName> has this day obtained a <lb/>
                        license from the County Court of S<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> Louis County <lb/>
                        State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>, in accordance with ac act <lb/>
                        entitled "an act concerning free negroes and <lb/>
                        mulattoes" approved <date when="1825-03-26">March 26th 1825</date>, to reside <lb/>
                        within the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> as long as his <lb/>
                        behaviour is good, then this bond shall be void <lb/>
                        and of none effect, otherwise it shall remain <lb/>
                        and be in full force and effect.
                    </p>
