               <p>The plaintiff also read in evidence the following<lb/> depositions. (Here insert them.) Upon this evidence<lb/> the jury found a verdict that the plaintiff was en-<lb/>titled to her freedom, and assessed the damages<lb/> at one dollar, and the court entered judgment<lb/> accordingly.</p>
               <p>The defendant within the legal time moved<lb/> the court to set aside the verdict and grant a new<lb/> trial for the following readers in writing and on<lb/> the following affidavit; (here set out the written<lb/> reasons and the affidavit) which affidavit<lb/> was read on hearing of said motion, but the<lb/> Court overruled said motion: to which opinion<lb/> of the Court overruling said motion, the defendant<lb/> by his counsel excepted, and prays the court to sign<lb/> and seal this his bill of execeptions, which is <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">
