                    <p>Know all men by these presents that we<lb/>
                        <persName>Daniel Davis</persName> as principal and <persName>Thomas G<lb/>
                        Settle</persName> and <persName>Rebecca Brotherton</persName> as Securities<lb/>
                        are held and firmly bound unto the State of<lb/>
                        <choice>
                     <orig>Misfouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> in the sum of One thousand<lb/>
                        Dollars, to which payment well and<lb/>
                        truely to be made we bind ourselves, our<lb/>
                        heirs and executors firmly by these<lb/>
                        presents sealed and dated this <date when="1846-12-04">4th<lb/>
                        day of December AD 1846.</date>
               </p>
                    <p>The Condition of the above <lb/>
                        bond is such that whereas the said<lb/>
                        <persName>Daniel Davis</persName> has this day <unclear unit="words" quantity="1" rend="strikethrough">been</unclear>
                  <lb/>
                        obtained a license to remain in<lb/>
                        the state of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> as a free<lb/>
                        person of Color.</p>
                    <p>Now if the said <lb/>
                        <persName>Daniel Davis</persName> shall be of good be=<lb/>
                        havior for and during the time<lb/>
                        he shall remain in the state aforesaid<lb/>
                        thent his obligation to be void else<lb/>
                        to remain in full force &amp; effect.</p>
