                  </unclear> to wit on the <date when="1839-07-01">first day of July<lb/> in the year of our Lord<lb/> one thousand eight hun-<lb/>dred and thirty nine</date> with force and arms<lb/> assaulted the said plaintiff to wit at the<lb/> county aforsaid and then and there beat bruised<lb/> and ill treated him and then and there im-<lb/>prisoned him and kept and detained him in<lb/> prison there without any reasonable or pro-<lb/>bable cause whatsoever, for a long term, to<lb/> wit: for the space of hours then next<lb/> following contrary to law and to the will<lb/> of the said plaintiff, and the said plaintiff<lb/> avers that before and at the time of the<lb/> committing of the grievances, was, and still<lb/> is, a free person and that the defendant<lb/> held and still <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">
