                    <p>Know all men by these presents <lb/>
                        that we <persName>Charlotte Carter</persName> as principal and <lb/>
                        <persName>
                     <unclear unit="word" quantity="1" rend="written"/> Windland</persName> as security are held &amp; firmly <lb/>
                        bound unto the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> in the sum <lb/>
                        of two hundred dollars for the true payment <lb/>
                        of which sum well and truly to be made the said <lb/>
                        <persName>Charlotte</persName> as principal and the said <persName>Windland</persName> 
                  <lb/>
                        as security hereby bind themselves their <lb/>
                        heirs, executors &amp; administrators firmly by these <lb/>
                        presents sealed with their seals &amp; dated this <lb/>
                        <date when="1843-05-02">second day of May AD 1843</date>
                    </p>
                    <p>Now the condition of this Bond is such that <lb/>
                        whereas the county Court of said St Louis County <lb/>
                        hath granted to the above bounden <persName>Charlotte</persName> 
                  <lb/>
                        a license to reside &amp; remain in the State of <lb/>
                        <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> according to the statute in such case <lb/>
                        made &amp; provided, Now if said Charlotte shall be <lb/>
                        of good behaviour while she remains in said <lb/>
                        state then this bond to be void otherwise to remain <lb/>
                        in full force
                    </p>
