                    <p>Know all Men by these presents that we <persName>Mary Deserey</persName>
                  <lb/>
                        as principal and<persName>Wilson Primm</persName> as security, are held <lb/>
                        <lb/> are held and firmly bound unto the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>, in the<lb/>
                        penal sum of two <unclear unit="chars" quantity="3" rend="strikethrough"/> hundred dollars, upon con=<lb/> 
                        dition <choice>
                     <orig>neverthelefs</orig>
                     
                  </choice>, that whereas, the said <persName>Mary Deserey</persName>
                  <lb/> 
                        a colored woman, manumitted by Jacques Desirey<lb/>
                        by deed dated <date when="1843-02-08">the 8th day of February 1843</date>, has<lb/>
                        this day obtained License from the Council-Court<lb/>
                        of St. Louis counsil, to <unclear unit="chars" quantity="5"/> her the said Mary<lb/>
                        to remain in the State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>, now if the<lb/>
                        said Mary Desirey, shall be of good behaviour,<lb/>
                        and conduct herself during her stay in the <lb/>
                        said State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice>, then this obligation to be<lb/>
                        void else of full force and virtue.</p>
