Know all men by their presents that I

as security are held and firmly bound unto this
State of
four hundred dollars that is to say the said

which we bind ourselves our are each of our heirs executors administrators and
jointly and severally firmly by these presents
sealed with our seals and dated this the
day of May in the year of our Lord are these
and eight hundred and forty three.
The condition of the above obligation such
that whereas the said
day obtained from the county court of St
Louis County a License to remain in this state
under the provision of an act of the General
act more effectually to prevent free persons of
color from entering into this state and for other
purposes" Approved February the twenty third
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and forty three. Now if the said

the continuance of said License then the above
obligation to be null & void else to be and rem-
ain in full force and virtue
