                    <p>Know all men by these presents that <persName>Virginia Eastus</persName>
                  <lb/>
                        as principal and <persName>John B Bogart</persName> as surety<lb/>
                        are held and firmly bound into the state of <lb/> 
                        <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> in the penal sum of four hundred<lb/>
                        Dollars for the payment of which sum<lb/>
                        <unclear unit="chars" quantity="4"/>
                  <sic>and</sic>and truly to be made the said<lb/>
                        <persName>Virginia</persName> as principal and the said <persName>John B Bog<lb/>
                            art</persName> as security hereby bind themselves their heirs<lb/>
                        executors and administrators firmly by these<lb/>
                        present sealed with their seals and <lb/>
                        dated this <date when="1843-05-01">first day of May AD 1843</date>
                  <lb/>
                        some of the condition of this Bond is such that<lb/>
                        whereas the county bond of saint Louis County<lb/>
                        hath granted to the above bonnder <persName>Virginia</persName>
                        a <unclear unit="chars" quantity="6"/> to reside and remain in the<lb/>
                        State of <choice>
                     <orig>Mifsouri</orig>
                     
                  </choice> according to the Statute in<lb/>
                        such case made and provided how if<lb/>
                        Virgina shall be of good behavior while she<lb/>
                        remains in said state then this bond to be void<lb/>
                        otherwise to remain in full force<lb/>
