                     <supplied>plaintiff</supplied>

                  <lb/>and then and there imprisoned him the said <lb/>plaintiff and kept and detained him in prison <lb/>there, without any reasonable or probable <lb/>cause whatsoever for a long time to wit, for <lb/>the <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">

                  </unclear> of twelve hours, contrary to the laws <lb/>of the said state and aganist the will of <lb/>the said plaintiff- And the said plaintiff <lb/>
                  <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> and <unclear rend="written" unit="chars">
                     <supplied>declares</supplied>
                  </unclear>, that before and at the <lb/>time of the committing the said grievence <lb/>by the said defendants, he was and still is <lb/>a free person and that the defendants held <lb/>and still hold him in slavery.</p>
               <p>Wherfore the said plaintiff says he is injured <lb/>and hath sustained damage to the <lb/>amount of <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/> dollar and therefore he brings suit <unclear rend="written" unit="chars"/>.</p>
