The for the United States of Amer-ica present that Paul of the Said county Pub lican from the last October to the present day 8 Dec. 1809 and on other times & days between that day & the day of the finding of the indictment with force & arms at his residence in the Town of St . Louis in the County of St Louis did keep maintenance at certain common & ill governed and disordely house and in his said house for his own & gain certain persons as well men or women of evil & fame & of conversation to frequent & comm together then & on other days & times there un-lawfully & wilfully did cause & the said new women his said in the night the & on the other day & times there to be & remain fighting drinking gambling whoring themselves unlawfully did permit & doth permit to the great damage & common nuisance of all the good people there inhabiting, residing & passing to the evil example of all others in the like case offending and against the Peace & dignity of the United States of America
