 Warrant and Affidavit for Arrest of John Fraser Leduc, M. P. Brown, George St. Louis Court of Common Pleas

Paul Serrault duly sworn says that on friday last the 24th instant a certain John Fraser at the house of Joseph Philibert in the town of St - Louis Bartered & exchanged a half Bottle of whiskey which the said John did then & there gave to an Indian of the Missouri nation for a Medal which the Indian give to him in Exchange for the said half a Bottle of whiskey Sworn to & sworn to before me a Justice of the peace this 27th day of June A. D. 1814

M. P. Leduc Paul his X mark Serrault To the Constable of the township of St Louis county

Take John Fraser bring him forthwith before me a justice of the peace at my office or before any justice of the peace of said county to answer the charges alledged in the above affidavit unto the United States Given under my hand this 27th day of June A. D. 1874

 Indictment of James Frazier Barton, D. Caulk, Richard St. Louis Court of Common Pleas Territory of Missouri County of Saint Louis Court of Common Pleas June Term 1814

The jurors empanelled and sworn to inquire within and for the county aforesaid and upon their oaths present and say that James D. Frazier of said county upon the twenty fifth day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and fourteen at the town of Saint Louis in said county without permision from the superintendent of Indian Affairs in and for said Territory did ex-change one bottle of spiritous liquor commonly called Whiskey, to and with an Indian man of the Missouri tribe and na-tion whose name is to the jurors unknown for one medal, and did then and there deliver to said indian the spiritous liquor so exchanged as aforesaid to the evil example of all others in like cares offending against the form of the statute of this Territory in such cases made and provided. and against the peace and dignity of the United States of America
